The vision for the documentary is to:
- inspire the yoga world to cross the borders of their mat, style or form of yoga, studio or school and join together for raising consciousness and funds for the essential issues of our times: global warming, AIDS and poverty.
- show the "global body and face" of the worldwide yoga community through footage of the global mala events in more than 50 cities worldwide from juvenile hall to Camp Pendelton Military Base.
- hear the diversity of voices of yoga practitioners and teachers and visionaries within the yoga world on how they experience "the call" and living "yoga as peace in action".

YES! I WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GLOBAL MALA DOCUMENTARY
To start I will need a simple e-mail application from you with:
- ALL contact information
- type of camera to be used
- Where and what you will be filming
- Your experience with filming
- Please make sure that you can commit to this so that the world can
be properly represented for GLOBAL MALA DAY! Below are technical & logistical requirements.
You can be as creative as you want! Documentary Vision: To bring a global face, voice and spirit to the
worldwide yoga community from Rishikesh to Tel Aviv, Los Angeles by showing your community gathering for the Global Mala project.
Types of Footage:
- Outside and Around the event-studio location
- Footage of the event
- opening of the ceremony
- sun salutations
- kirtan
- Speakers
- interview participants: we will send update of 2-3 questions to ask
Cameras and Submission Process:
All submissions should be delivered on MiniDV in the following format. NTSC, 16x9, 29.97fps, 2ch Stereo 48khs. Please label all tapes with your name and contact information and running time. Also include on an attached sheet your projects production credits as you would like them to appear in the finished documentary. And please, do NOT include ANY music you don't own the rights to. All footage must be cut down to a maximum of an hour. Please send tapes to

Please upload any photographs of your event by Sept. 24th to be
shown at the Yoga Journal Estes Park Conference on October 1st. All
participating studios and filmmakers will be credited!
